My "Brickwall" Moment in My Bible Study

Oh my word! I can't believe this has never been brought to my attention before. I just CANNOT continue in my Bible study today, I HAVE to blog it and get it out there! It hit me like bricks.

Mark 5:1-20 - Jesus heals a demon-possessed man
vv. 6-8 -- When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. He shouted at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!" For Jesus had said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!"

Ok. NO ONE could control this man. He was completely possessed - then Jesus comes along and the demon is TERRIFIED! He falls on his knees and begs that Jesus not torture him. The DEMON KNEW WHO JESUS WAS --- and was AFRAID!

My point with all of this is that he would not have been terrified of Jesus if he had been just an ordinary man. Jesus was not an ordinary man or a good prophet or whatever. He was God, the Christ, He had all power and He died for us. It's so simple and we make it SO hard.

This just excites me even more. Not that I didn't believe before, but when I find things like this it solidifies my beliefs even more. Praise God that I am willing to Believe!
